HECK YES

It's 5:30 a.m.

I work in six hours.

I wrote about 5K words today.

And I'm very happy to announce:

THE FIRST DRAFT OF THE TEMPER IS DONE!!!!

Complete at 46,021 words, quite short of my projected word count of 60K.

It will beef up a bit in edits. I already know of a couple scenes I need to add or flesh out. It'll probably end up around 55K.

BUT STILL.

I'm so happy to be done with this stage!

Let the revising begin!

(But first I think I'll sleep for a while.)

P.S.-
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  3. I was so excited for you as I read this post! Since this week I went back, scrapped (almost) my entire 19-chapter first draft and started over, I'm more inspired by your success than you can know. I can't wait to type the words you did today!

    Best of luck with revisions/edits!!

  5. Congras! That is so exciting, I'm thrilled for you! The feeling is so awesome working in five hours isn't even important! Besides you'll probably still be working off your finished novel high.

  6. Hey, congrats! It's funny how you're under your projected word count, and I'm about 20k over mine. I must be more of a filler person than you are. =P

  7. CONGRATS! I'm currently on spring break and you've reminded me that I've got to use this free time to work on my WIP. Hopefully by the end of April I'll have it done!

  9. Congratulations!

My current wip started at around 40,000 words and now, after rewrites it is up to 94,000. I'm sure yours will fill out easier than you think!
